Quilted Batik Jacket

This is made with flannel batik fabrics. I pieced free-form style blocks and sewed them together with some plain flannel batik squares. The blocks on the sleeves are smaller in size. I later added 3 large colorful buttons to the jacket.

Happy Flowers Quilt

I entered this in a baby quilt contest. I didn't win, however on the stationery thanking me for entering the quilt was a handwritten note saying that I had excellent color choices. So that was nice. I named this quilt Happy Flowers. I hand buttonhole stitched around each flower and hand quilted it.

Mini Quilt: "Fabric? What Fabric?"

I gave this as a holiday gift to a quilter at my quilt guild. I painted the woman with fabric paints and added some embellishments.
I used batik scraps and sewed crazy quilt like strips around the painted woman piece.

I painted this fabric with the woman I got from a book of copyright-free quilt drawings.

Knit Socks

Wool yarn from Knit Picks. I knit a cable pattern on these socks. Word of warning: use yarn that has at least 25% nylon and 75% wool or other fiber because the nylon gives socks the durability they need in the heels and toes. This yarn here was 100% wool. I wore the socks around the house for a couple of hours while wearing slippers too and the heels had already had worn a hole in them! I emailed Knit Picks customer service to tell them they should not be telling people this yarn make great socks (which is what their catalog does say) and told them what had happened to me. They refunded my yarn cost which was nice, but I really just wanted them to be aware that 100% wool does not make good socks at least for the heels and toes. Lesson learned and I will wear these only while in bed to keep warm and won't walk on them.

This sock yarn has 25% nylon and 75% wool and is a nice sock yarn. This was a Regia sock yarn is great colors that self pattern.

Small Fabric Purses

These are small purses, but have 5 pockets. 2 zippered pockets, a pleated pocket too to hold a cell phone. Several views showing the front and back opened and closed and the inside. I sold the green one with the yellow trim 12/2007.
