Travel & Passport Wallet

I made this Travel & Passport Wallet, a pattern by So Sew Easy. I used Hot Air Balloon fabric because I put this in a little gift shop in Albuquerque to sell for the upcoming International Balloon  Fiesta (starting the 1st weekend in October each year). It sold right away! Yay!!! It was a fun pattern and a great way to use up small amounts of fabric for the inside pockets.
It folds in half and the red hair tie wraps around the handmade button to keep it closed.

Inside I used a variety of fabrics that coordinated with the hot air balloon fabric. I also printed out a couple of signs (one for tickets and one for passport) so that when someone looked at it they would know what it was for. This is a good wallet for a couple or family, as there are pockets on both sides for tickets and passports, plus cash can be slipped into either side under the pockets where the yellow striped binding is. The 2 lower smaller pockets can hold ID or credit cards.

Here you can see it opened out to show the back and front exterior. I may make another one of these for someone I know who will be traveling next year, but I will use different fabrics.

9 Scrappy Patchwork Zippered Pouches

I wanted to use up scraps that were over flowing in my scrap bags, so I made some zippered pouches. I still have plenty of scraps left because when I wasn't looking they multiplied like rabbits! LOL!

If you see any that you would like to buy, email me. They will eventually go to the gift shop, but the shop will take only a few items each month, so if I still have some of these, I would be happy to sell them. $18 each plus shipping. I invoice through PayPal. I will mark any that sell as sold here next to the photos. Thanks for looking.

Double the Fun Zipper Pouches

Sandie, one of the testers of my Organizer Pouch, asked me to test a pouch pattern for her recently. She had never written a pattern before but was going to teach how to make these pouches at her local quilt shop. Then I guess she decided to take the plunge and actually put her pattern up on Craftsy to sell. Her pattern is called Double the Fun Zipper Pouches. Good luck Sandie!

With one zipper and an extra zipper pull, you can make these pouches. I didn't have an extra pull, so I used 2 zippers, which you can also do.

Sandie posted the testers versions on her blog, Crazy'boutquilts, that you can see here. These were fun little pouches to make and Sandie's directions were well written.
This is the larger of the 2 zippered pouches. The ruffle and the patchwork remind me of a quilt shop with windows and an awning, lol!

Here is one side of the small pouch.

The Organizer Pouch by Tester Lauren

One of my testers for The Organizer Pouch pattern was a little late getting hers finished. She sent these finished photos to me, but then I was a even later getting these posted on my blog. Lauren did a fabulous job! I love the happy colors and the equally happy colored zippers too! Thank you Lauren for testing this bag pattern for me.

The Organizer Pouch has 5 zippers: 3 exterior pockets, 1 interior zippered pocket and the main compartment zipper on top. Great for storing all your supplies for school, or hobbies such as knitting, crochet, quilting tools, and more!

Here is Lauren's Happy version:

Introducing The Organizer Pouch Pattern

I designed this Organizer Pouch and created a pattern for making one of your own. Originally designed for my friend's granddaughter as a school supply pouch to be carried in her backpack, I thought this would also be a great pouch to carry all kinds of things such as knitting or crochet tools, quilting or sewing tools, art supplies, a small computer tablet or electronic reader, notepads, etc.

With the removable wrist strap it makes it easy to carry or pop into a tote bag to keep your supplies neat and organized. There are 4 zippered pockets (3 outside, and one lining pocket) plus the main zippered compartment, so there is a lot of room to organize your things in 5 zippered places. No worries about having things fall out because everything is secured by the zippered closures.

I put a call out for testers here and on Facebook and oh boy I sure got a lot who responded to the call. I couldn't ask them all to test, so I decided to randomly choose 2 beginners, 2 intermediate and 2 advanced sewers or sewists to test my pattern. I have created a few patterns in the past, but only had one tester then. I am sure glad I had 6 testers this time because I got a lot of good feedback as well as some eagle eyes catching my mistakes! Well that is the reason for testers to test patterns after all. I made a lot of corrections and added and subtracted things in the final pattern and it's finally ready for sale on Craftsy.com in my pattern store. (Note: 2 testers couldn't complete the pouch in time, so I will be posting theirs another time when they get it finished, so good thing I still had 4 testers!)

I am having an introductory sale for The Organizer Pouch pattern for 48 hours only, so please pop over to my Craftsy store to purchase the pattern now while it's on sale! After 48 hours it will go back to the regular price of $5.95, but for the next 48 hours (Friday September 1st 12:01 PM until Sunday September 3rd 12:00 PM Mountain Time) it will be sale priced for only $3.95! That's more than a 33% discount!

Next up are the testers versions and they all did an outstanding job! I picked some good testers! Thanks ladies.

Here is Tara's Organizer Pouch~

Tara chose such a cute fabric with letters and postcards.

Tara quilted her exteriors by following the letter and postcard shape on the right side of the fabric.
Next is Cindy~

Cindy also chose a cute fabric! All my hobbies: sewing, knitting, quilting, embroidery. Perfect fabric choice for organizing any of these craft tools.

Cindy said her iPad mini fits nicely inside too.

Pauline is next and she went overboard making 3 versions!

Pauline made this one first. She used a thicker fleece and wanted to make another one using a thinner fleece.

Love the black and white version too.

Pauline boxed the corners on this version. Such a great idea! I added this as an option to the directions.

Sandie made a stunning black, white and red pouch. She plans on carrying all those little things like cell phone, wallet, charger, and embroidery supplies that she can take with her on retreats instead of leaving in the room. Smart idea Sandie!
